Learning NLP Strategies

Learning how strategies work, will help you produce a certain behaviour in individuals. The definition of a strategy is a specific syntax of internal and external human experience consistently produces a specific outcome. Our personal experience as human beings is an endless series of representations both internal and external. In order to take this endless sequence it is useful to suspend the process, and contextualize it in terms of outcomes.

The Components of a strategies and how to use them are as follows. First you need to discover the strategy. The first step is to discover the person’s strategy through the process of elicitation. Then you need to utilization the strategy. You can utilize the strategy by feeding it back in the order and sequence that it was elicited. Than they may be a need to change and the design or make changes in the strategy, and design a strategy so it produces the desired outcome. Then installation the strategy. By installing the new strategy the person can have if a behaviour the way they want it.

Why learn to elicit strategies? Well strategies are a powerful part of NLP and everything we do is involved in strategies. In fact everything we do is a strategy, how we have sex, to eating, even love, attraction; decision, wealth etc are all strategies.

If we find a good strategy we can adopt it, if we find a behaviour we don’t want anymore we can get rid of it by simply taking out the strategy. Do you have any behaviour you want to get rid off? Than learning how to use strategies are the key!

Communication with strategies will be more effective if you utilise the other person’s strategies. Lets say that someone has a decision strategy that is, Vr, Ad, K. This would mean that they had a strategy that was Visual recall, Auditory digital (self talk) and than Kinaesthetic. So you would use that strategy by feeding back you question like this “I am wondering how soon, you will have a chance to look at out proposal, to see that it means you criteria for acceptance so that you can feel good about it tonight, won’t you?”

Anytime you are negotiating or selling, motivation, relationship counselling etc you can use strategies they are very important. So pay attention to what the client is doing, pay attention to his eyes, his physiology ,his breathing and that will give you a lot of information.
